Overview

Amirah Hamidi Connects is a streamlined social media links web app that serves as a central hub for connecting users to my various social media platforms. The goal of this project was to build a user-friendly and visually appealing app that efficiently consolidates all social media links into one easy-to-access page.

Development Process

The project was designed with a focus on simplicity and accessibility. I began by wireframing the layout to ensure a clear user flow and then implemented a responsive design using CSS media queries. After testing the app on different devices to confirm responsiveness, I fine-tuned the link functionality for smooth navigation.

Challenges & Solutions

Ensuring that the app looked great and functioned well on various screen sizes was a key challenge. By utilizing a responsive grid and media queries, I was able to maintain consistency across all devices. Additionally, optimizing the app's load time and making it accessible on slower connections was accomplished through lightweight design techniques.

Future Improvements

In future iterations, I plan to:

  • Add user customization options for their own social link pages.
  • Incorporate analytics to track link engagement and user interactions.

Takeaway

Building the Amirah Hamidi Connects web app reinforced the importance of simplicity and functionality in web design. By focusing on clean UI, responsive design, and ease of navigation, I was able to create a user-friendly platform that serves a clear purpose. This project also highlighted the value of optimizing for mobile devices and prioritizing quick load times, both of which are essential for enhancing user experience.
